Creating and Staying at Home
Staying at home is one of the most important things we can do right now. After all, the home is where the heart is!
I have loved and devoted my life and career towards building a home and lifestyle for my clients, friends and architects. Everyday I am exploring new ideas, products and digitally communicating with my clients and workrooms.
Now that we are grounded in our homes, when was the last time you thought of repairing or replacing your “to-do list”? How about a comfortable lounge chair. There are many items now that are on sale for a discounted 20% off.
Recently, I had the pleasure to walk into homes that I created 20 years ago. When I was building these homes, I never imagined that I would leave a legacy. My clients and their families have raised their children and life has been lived.

For the first time, I knew I had created timeless homes. When I stepped back into those beautiful homes, I knew I had given a gift.
Most of the houses I designed have stood the test of time and have appeared in many Architectural Digest magazines. These houses only needed minor maintenance from window coverings to floor coverings.
Now that we are on lockdown, how have you been occupying yourself?
For me, while I am social distancing, I’ve been reflecting and thinking of different ways to be proactive.
However during this time, real estate deals are closing faster than ever.
People who have been pushing off to purchase a home have come to realize the importance of a home sweet home.
If you’re looking into buying a home, these are questions that you might want to ask during this process:
-
What color do you want your living room walls, bathroom, etc. to be?
-
What new appliances do you want to buy?
-
What are the best products for your plumbing hardware?
-
What type of countertops should I use?
-
Best part – Is it a good time to organize?

For families out there who are looking to do some fun activities in your spare time, here are some advice/suggestions from your favorite interior designer:
-
Virtually visit art museums!
-
Do arts and crafts with your little ones.
-
Learn new dances with your kids on Tiktok!
-
Utilize the outdoors and go for brisk walks in non-populous areas.
-
Keep a journal.
